QUESTION
I am going to do my key stage 3 SATs examinations this year. I desperately want to get a level 7 in science, a level 6 in Maths and English at least. I need lots of advice please help...

I would also like some advice on my subject choices which i am about to make. I want to go into medical. I enjoy doing geography so that might be one of my choices. please help me!

ANSWER
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. For advice on how to tackle exams, have a look at http://www.revisioncentre.co.uk/advice/general_tips.html if you haven't done so already. http://www.revisionlink.co.uk also lists site which you may find helpful with advice and tips.

Your choices often depend on how many you can take altogether. I presume there are some subjects that are compulsory for you to study. The most important thing is to do subjects that you enjoy. You shouldn't try to do a tough combination of subjects just because they look academically good. If you enjoy geography, that would be good for you to do, but always remember to keep your options open.

Don't get stressed if you find your SATs hard and you don't get the marks you wanted. In a couple of years, when you are studying for your GCSEs, your SATs results won't really mean much. I know this seems a bit harsh, but as you progress through school, you are always aiming for the next level of achievement, all the way up to university.

To get more advice and help, talk to any teachers you feel comfortable with and always discuss things with your parents. Talking to friends can always be a bit disorientating because they have different ideas about what they want to do etc... Remember, it's your choice, and what you want to do.

Hope some of this was helpful. All the best in your exams.
