Good study environment
« on: May 24, 2008, 07:15:26 PM »

This post is in the form of a question and answer. The question was asked by a user of www.revisioncentre.co.uk.

QUESTION
I want to organize my room to make it into a good study environment. Do you have any tips? e.g. what I should get rid of, more space etc. Thank you.

RESPONSE
It's always a good idea to have a large space always free on your desk, if you've got one. You need plenty of room to spread out all those notes and books so that you can easily reach them when you need them. If you can, always study at a desk, and not when you're lying down on your bed for example. You won't take in as much when you are overly relaxed... and you'll probably fall asleep!

Keep your door shut and tell your parents you'll be studying so that they can leave you alone. The fewer distractions there are the better. I don't know whether you like playing music while you revise, but usually it’s not a good idea. If you do though, keep it quite quiet, and music without lyrics is always better. They can always be a bit distracting, and of course, singing along to your favourite song won't exactly help your studies!  Smiley

You've probably heard half of this before but I hoped the tips helped anyway.
